Opening the Doors to Positive Choices and Overcoming Challenges
Barton and Megan will speak to The Frazer Center clients, families, professionals and staff. For Barton Cutter, living beyond limitations has meant not buying into all those confining beliefs and expectations that he faced from everyone including himself. The idea that he would never get married as a person with a disability, the belief that there was no possible way to survive and earn a living without receiving federal benefits, even more fundamental cultural paradigms that say people with disabilities somehow have less value to offer society than those who are without disabilities.
“Opening the Doors to Positive Choices and Overcoming Challenges” explores what it means to embrace life to its fullest. How to dream big, make positive choices, and pursue dreams when we hear “no” over and over again. Through creativity, resourcefulness, utilizing community support systems, and determination, each of us has the capacity to live the life we dream. We can follow our passions and open ourselves to achieve our own sense of purpose that positively impacts our community. For more information contact Megan Cutter.

Presented by S. Barton Cutter and Megan M. Cutter, authors of “Ink in the Wheels: Stories to Make Love Roll”
Have you ever found the perception of your disability discourages your from reaching for your dreams? Often, roadblocks, challenges, and being told “no” can stop you in your tracks. Rediscover your capacity to believe in what can become possible. This workshop will leave you inspired, motivated and ready to jump into action.
